  Your views and ideas on forum areas and organization?

  this may come as a shock to some people, but the current forum structure was kind of thrown together without much real thought and then evolved a bit over time.

  there are a few things that particularly grate on me and areas where i don't think the subjects work particularly well.

  'friends' is a bit vague and becomes a dumping ground, news & world events vs politics & current affairs is hard to decide sometimes, child abuse is a scandal but isn't contained withing 'scandals & coverups' etc.... with a new forum platform imminent, it's a good time to solicit ideas to improve things.

  I still miss the "thread" view from the old forum, where you could respond to a thread as a whole, or to a particular post within the thread. This enabled you to keep track of the discussions within the thread. I think the lack of such could be a factor in the decline of the heavy debating that used to happen on the old board.

  I also find it odd that if you go to active topics, you're always taken to the newest first, but if you go to the topics you've posted on or started, you're taken to the oldest.

  i was just thinking...what do you think the borg would look like if they said it's no longer necessary to do the preaching work...it's voluntary?

  I found the book on Amazon, not much information about it though:

  It was published by Harper & Brothers, which became HarperCollins.

  ADCMS, tell me about it. I think that for most modern JWs even reading a 40s era WT magazine would create a mind-storm of cognitive dissonance beyond what they could handle.

  The GB are in the same position as all believing JWs. For them, as much or more so than any average JW, to entertain the possibility, for even a moment, that JWism and all it entails concerning faithful slaves and armageddons and everything else, is all just a collective fantasy, is to face an unbearable avalanche of cognitive dissonance.

  Apostate: From 279 Facebook friends to 81 overnight... thanks MOM!

  the drama continues, i log on to facebook this morning and notice that i have about 20 some odd personal messages from people calling me an apostate to they will return to me when i return to jehovah.. all of this based upon my brother informing others that i have "apostate thoughts".

  my mother also encourage long-time famil friends to "unfriend" me because i have taken my stand on the side of satan... wow.

  don't you just love this international brotherhood.

  I have heard news that you have decided to turn your back on the one true organization because you were not recognize for your own abilities. This reminds me of Korah. Do you know what happened to him? Do you wish this to be your outcome? Surely you love your children and what about <wifes name>?

  Only knew one that partook. She was very odd, for sure - never really had an open, engaging expression when you talked to her, it was always this weird smile. Had six screwed-up homeskooled kids that I think pretty much raised themselves. Her husband was actually a pretty cool guy, don't know how he got pulled into that mess. Never stick your d*ck in crazy, as they say.

  So awkward during the memorial to hear her sitting there crunching on the crackers LOL.
